  1. Day 1: Cusco - Inca Trail Km 104  -  Aguas Calientes town (Meals: L, D) 

    (4:00am) we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. Following, we will go to the train station and leave on the 6:10 a.m. train from Ollantaytambo. The trail follows the Urubamba River until we reach Km104, where we'll begin our trek. Along the way, you will see spectacular views of farmlands, snow-capped mountains, and the mighty Urubamba River that is one of the sources of the Amazon River. At 104 km (2,000 m), we will begin our trek. Once you have everything, we will provide you with snacks, and take a group photo before visiting our first Inca site. We will begin hiking as we head for the Inca Trail. After hiking for 4 hours, we will reach the most beautiful Incan site on the Inca Trail Wiñay Wayna (Forever Young) at 2,600 m/8,500 ft. Most people do not get the opportunity to see an elaborate water fountain, temples, and some agricultural terraces, which provide a perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the Incas. The backdrop of this site drops off a cliff, with beautiful mountains surrounding the area. A few minutes away we will find the campsites, people doing the 4-day Inca Trail will spend the night there. Here we will have lunch and siesta. From Wiñay Wayna, we will walk to the Sun Gate, where we will see the awesome landscape of Machu Picchu. After taking in the once-in-a-lifetime views, we will begin our descent to Machu Picchu. One advantage of this trek is that by the time you reach Machu Picchu. We take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and head to your hotel. Following, we will head to Indio Feliz for dinner (included). This restaurant is considered to be the best food in Aguas Calientes. After dinner, we recommend going to bed early to make the most of the next day. (OVERNIGHT IN Aguas Calientes TOWN)
  2. Day 2:  Explore Machu Picchu -  Cusco (Meals: B)

    We have breakfast and then take the first bus (5:00am) up to Machu Picchu. We will see the beautiful scenery and have the grand tour of Machu Picchu by visiting the most important temples in the ruins. You will have some free time to go on exploring the site on your own. For an additional cost, we can obtain the entrance tickets for Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu (This is the top of the mountain we see in every picture of Machu Picchu) 2720m/8890ft.  This optional hike should be booked well in advance (and it takes a 50 min to reach the top and another 50 min to hike down). You will have the afternoon free for you to have lunch at Indio Feliz restaurant (own cost). Finally, you will catch the Vistadome train at 6:10pm from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cusco ends 10:00pm. Note: Machu Picchu USA  suggest to bring only essential items during this two day trip, such as 50 Lt backpack, trekking pants, trekking shoes, mosquitos repellent, cash money soles, original passport, snack, sunscream, bottle water, walking poles with rubber.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: This trek does NOT include porters. You will be carrying all your own things yourself while hiking. Because of this, it is imperative to pack as light as possible. A light backpack is key to feeling great.
