Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 4 Days 3 Nights

Spend 4-Day communing with the ancient civilization of the Incas, covering the UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites of Cusco and Machu Picchu. Discover the key highlights of Cusco, once the capital of the sprawling Inca empire, with visits to its cathedral, and the fortress at Sacsayhuaman.

  1. Day 1: Arrive to Cusco + City Tour

    Upon you arrival at Cusco Airport in the morning, we will transfer you to the hotel booked by Machu Picchu USA, you have couple hours to rest and get used to the altitude. Then we get back to your hotel at (1 :20 p.m.) From here, you will head to Cusco’s Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the famous Cathedral. Following, you will continue on foot through an ancient Inca-built Street from the Main Square to the Q’oricancha, the Temple of the Sun. At the Q’oricancha you will be able to compare and contrast the building methods of the Incan culture and Catholicism. This was the key spiritual center of the Incas, which leads to all four quarters of the Inca Empire. There is also a bronze, high altar to be seen. From Q’oricancha, your group will walk down Avenida El Sol, where you will take you outside of the city. You will be taken to the majestic Inca site, Sacsayhuaman, with its enigmatic, 200 ton monoliths, You will be able to hear from your guide and then, explore on your own. From Sacsayhuaman, you will take a five minute bus ride to the Q’enqo Inca site to see its fascinating Incan altars. Following, you will take another five minute drive to Puca Pucara, a small, circular Inca site. The final stop on our tour is Tambomachay, a water temple with impressive water fountains, thought to be used by the Inca for bathing. We'll then drive back down to Cusco tour ends 6:40pm.   2. Day 2: Sacred Valley Tour Pisac and Ollantaytambo

    Explore the beautiful Peruvian countryside with a full-day tour of the magical Sacred Valley. First, you will visit the town of Pisac, famous for its bustling market and beautiful Incan ruins that loom over the city. In the market you will have the opportunity to browse the beautiful handicrafts and Andean garments displayed for sale as well as local fruits, vegetables, and other natural products. While at the Pisac ruins you will be able to see ceremonial and cemetery areas, as well as amazing views of Pisac and the surrounding valley from above. Following your visit to Pisac, you will stop for lunch (own cost) at a buffet restaurant offering a variety of Peruvian and international food near the town of Urubamba. Next, you will visit the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo. These magnificent ancient ruins provide a great vantage point over the Sacred Valley. Originally the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti during the Inca Empire, this site later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui in the final resistance effort against the Spanish. In the evening, you will be taken to your comfortable hotel in the Sacred Valley. (OVERNIGHT IN SACRED VALLEY)
  3. Day 3: Machu Picchu Tour

    After breakfast at your Sacred Valley hotel. At 7:05 am you will take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu, the hidden Inca citadel. This hour-and-a-half to two-hour train journey is one of the finest in the world. Much of the path winds along the rushing Vilcanota river and snakes through gorges cut into the bases of massive mountainsides, offering passengers dramatic views of the Andean landscape as the train descends from high altitude plains down through the cloud forest. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu, you will be met at the train station and accompanied to the bus station for a 25-minute ride up to the secluded citadel, which is surrounded by a cloud forest inhabited by orchids and hummingbirds. Next, you will meet your expert English-speaking guide for a tour of the most important sites in Machu Picchu, including the Intihuatana (Sun dial stone), the Sun Temple, and the Room of 3 Windows. Discovered in 1911 by an American history professor, Machu Picchu is justifiably ranked as one of the “must see” archaeological sites in the world. Here, royal palaces, temples and astronomical observatories cling to a granite spur some 2,000 feet above the valley floor, affording spectacular views of the cloud-wreathed Andes and the Urubamba River far below. At 6:10pm you will take the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo, then by bus Cusco ends 10:30pm. (OVERNIGHT IN CUSCO))
  4. Day 4: Departure from Cusco

    After breakfast, we will take you back to the airport according your flight itinerary, end of service!
